A Friar’s Tale - Remembering Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel, CFR
By John Collins. It was hard for me to start reading this book because I couldn’t get past the cover, with its picture of Father Benedict. There is peace, innocence, wisdom, and joy in those eyes. And the story of his life includes all those lived-out virtues. I’d be thinking, how could he accomplish all that in one day? Then, a cardinal would call him to start or head up another ministry, and he’d say yes. In our new CD, with the St. Bridget Prayers and Holy Souls Prayers, I included Father Benedict’s prayer for one who has committed suicide (with permission from his order). I “knew” that prayer had to come from a lived experience of his own, and I found it in this book. Surely this man will one day be declared a saint. Softcover, 319 pages.
