Pillar & Bulwark
A Novel by Marcus Grodi. Marcus' first novel How Firm a Foundation, helped put together all the issues a minister has to deal with before deciding to become Catholic. I learned much from that book. This book, also a novel, highlights what a superior writer Marcus is. His descriptions bring areas of the country alive for the reader, and the fast pace of the various stories being told makes it difficult to put the book down. It also highlights the strongly anti-Catholic sentiments of some Protestants, as well as of some ex-Catholics. I must admit, Pillar and Bulwark robbed me of several hours of sleep, but it was worth it. When I finished the last page, I thanked God profusely for my Catholic heritage and a lifetime of sacramental graces. Softcover, 398 pages.
