The Dance - A Story of Love, Faith, and Survival

By Joan Aubele.  Another title for this book could be “A Love Story.” The love Joan’s husband, Carl, has for his terminally ill wife is one of the most grace-filled that I have ever read. It’s like you get two stories in one. Joan is twenty-nine years old, with three children, one just a baby, when she is told she is dying. Day by day she worsens until her female doctor, who is not a Christian, hangs a medal from Medjugorje on the wall of her hospital room. Joan is not completely cured, but her illness, against all odds, begins to take a turn for the better. She is considered a miracle patient around the hospital. I like to think that the grace of Joan and Carl’s Sacrament of Matrimony, beautifully lived out, also contributed to her ultimate victory over death. Softcover, 123 pages.
