The Hands of a Deacon
This beautiful reflection begins, "Our Beloved Deacon, Look at your hands and remember back to your Ordination Day when your bishop laid hands on you and sent you forth to serve and minister to your Catholic people. These hands reach out to the ill in nursing homes and extended care facilities, to bring them Christ's presence. These are the hands that prepare engaged couples for marriage, instruct parents for the baptism of their babies, help teach the Rite of Christian Initiation to future Catholics, and often become the hands of a chaplain in a hospital. These hands hold..." And ends with, Beloved Deacon, YOUR hands have no limits because they are the Hands of Christ, the SERVANT among us."
